     Was there a surge of mastodon.social joins in May?

     @clacke I think that the jump in "others" size is largely caused by community.nodebb.org. The big question is whether the 25,364 users is claiming is in anyway accurate or is it just counting remote users

     @clacke misskey.io has always supported nodeinfo accounting even if it doesn't report active users that way.

     @fediversecounter Any idea how misskey.io is #2 in post and user growth 2024-05-28--06-25 when it wasn't in the top 10 2024-05-23--06-20?

     That kind of jump doesn't seem likely to represent mass human behavior, that's why I was looking for what kind of technical artifact it could be.
