   In 1981, Dragon Magazine published AD&D character stats for Bugs Bunny and other cartoon characters.

   Bugs was a 15th level illusionist, Popeye was a 9th or 18th level fighter (depending on the spinach situation), and Daffy Duck was an agent of chaos with random attacks and complete immunity to all forms of damage.

     Apparently folks loved it, because a year later Dragon published a second article with stats for Donald Duck (10th level Berserker!), a Lou Ferrigno-esque Jolly Green Giant, the Tasmanian Devil, and Marvin the Martian.

     @mcnees I have always wanted to play D&D but for some reason feel to self conscious about it. Which is in itself an oxymoron I think because I am generally an extrovert and good at games.

     @mcnees Dragon's April Fools issues were the best. One of them introduced Champions III, with an ad spoofing Rambo III. (As with Rambo, there was no Champions II.)

     So interesting to look through the stuff that got cut from later editions of TSR’s Deities & Demigods. In this case, they never bothered to get the rights from Haribo and had to remove the entry.

     @TSindelar I really like seeing some of the ways they tried to make a character sheet for Daffy Duck.

     One of the funnest DnD games I ever played was as a Kappa Defender - house rules gave him underwater breathing and a swim speed equal to land movement mechanics (dash etc).

     Do you think you’d ever let a Player-character (not a pet) have some pretty big house-rule advantage for an adventure?

     (Or are they there already and I don’t notice?)
