I have been asked by several acquaintances lately how I keep my cool when Nuclear saber rattling starts... especially when I pretty openly laugh at the specter of it...
It's simple. If it goes off for real, there is NOTHING I can do to change it. Further, I've seen this talk before growing up GenX... nobody wins in this sort of exchange... so it won't happen.
Yes, on a risk matrix it is all bad, the worst, in fact... but it's also highly unlikely to occur.
Deterrents work in this game of chess. and no one will ever make the first move.
So gather round kids, find yourself a GenX partner who isn't in a rocking chair yet, and ask them the questions you need to, because it's a scary rollercoaster ride.
