   I feel like a criminal. But it wasn't benefiting anyone stored behind our kitchen door either.
   
   I could ship it to @hypolite but that would cost as much as it would sell for, or more. I don't know anywhere in this city that would accept it and I don't have spoons for selling it online.

     You may morally be a criminal for dumping all those Lego blocks, but you wouldn't have to dump them if there was a community parents' resource center where proven learning toys like original-style Legos could be passed on from one family to the next.
     
     I blame society for depriving you of the opportunity to help your neighbors out.

     There was what's on the box plus a police station, I don't have numbers.
     
     I could go get it again if you're that willing to help, probably it's still on top.

     @clacke If you live in a city, you can put it on the sidewalk, it will disappear quickly. Or I can pay for shipping, do you have an idea of what sets went into the making of this box, beyond the 10702 creative set I see?

     @lnxw48a1 Yeah, we have clothes collection containers but no toy collection containers. It would be awesome if the LEGO center downtown would accept old LEGO, I would give it to them for sure.
     
     Hongkongers are very much not into reuse and it makes me so sad. In Linköping and Stockholm I would have given them to Salvation Army or Red Cross second hand shops.

     No guarantee that anything is complete and there may be a few LEGO-like bricks mixed in.

     @hypolite Oh I hope it will be below that, and I haven't decided if I will take you up on the offer to claim the cost or if I'll just send it to you anyway.
     
     I'm just happy your enthusiastic reply gave me the motivation to shake me out of my apathy, and that there is a way not to waste these bricks.
     
     As part of the same cleanup drive I threw away any spare boxes that would have been suitable to fit both the box and those base plates, but I'm sure I'll end up with a suitable box soon.

     @clacke I've made my specialty to restore sets, so don't worry about that. And the prospect of buying LEGO from you amuses me beyond the commercial value. I can contribute US $50 to the shipping costs.
