     @meena Until Zulip federates, XMPP and Matrix are what we have.
     
     When it does federate I'm assuming it'll be over Matrix. I think Mattermost is heading there too.

     @meena By coincidence (synchronicity?) I am currently listening to an interview with a Mattermost founder and yeah it's kind of interesting and partly inspiring but also disappointing and soulless, flippant and extractive.
     
     Very very open source as opposed to free software or cooperative technology.

     @clacke @erin @charlotte i never quite took mattermost seriously, because they are a company, and their prime objective is to scoop up customers left behind by slack
