   would much, much rather stay with standard time. Most of the country is south of me though, so they don't get it. They never see the sun in Seattle anyway, so they don't care. That basically leaves us and Boston screaming about it.

     @clacke I don't really care which one they pick as long as they leave it there.
     
     I do know that USA currently has standard time four or five months of the year, with the rest being daylight saving, so maybe that is the reason.

     I think #MA wanted to move to AST so they could have whatever advantages that DST is supposed to give without being on Daylight Saving Time. As I understood it, the proposal would have required #NH, #VT, #ME, #CT, #RI to all agree to move to the new time zone before it could become effective.

     I guess that's a fair point that we sit at different places in the timezone. doing DST year-round in Minnesota is stupid, but not having to deal with changing at a different time than Europe will be worth it, I think.
