   with @cwebber's datashards proposal, it's possible. we plan to implement datashards in Pleroma 2.0 to accomplish this.

     @kaniini We will need the help of Pleroma devs to help shape the final implementation. What's there has the core functionality, but there are some open decisions to be made to get it to the final form. I'm happy that Pleroma's devs have got on board... getting additional insight from actual implementers is exactly what we need.
