     Any idea where to get a free SSL cert that most clients would accept (e.g. Firefox and Android)? (Until EFF's Let's Encrypt project gets off the ground...)

     OTOH the gandi one is 12€/year so maybe that isn't so bad....

     @morph @encycl @r7 Yeah, indeed. The simplest kind of SSL cert only verifies that you own the domain, no reason why you'd have to pay a lot of money for that.

     @sazius you can probably get a domain for less than the price of a paid-for cert. Does it *need* to be a subdomain?

     Hehhe, you may be right. But the free cert is for a short time only, and I'd prefer a subdomain actually.
