     @encycl well, "America" (I suspect they mean teh USA) is a big country - I'd like to see a similar statistic expressed as deaths per X number of inhabitants. A grpoah like this would be a good illustration for "How to lie with statistics"

     The point is the countries with 0. A further statistic: Ofcr Wilson fired his gun 12 times at Michael Brown. That’s more times than the entire police force of the UK discharged their weapons in 2012.

     @encycl admittedly teh zeros are interesting, but the graph is misleading. Shooting 12 times though is not a "statistic" - it's a data point.
