@elizafox @nightpool @oxenfree @cybermeow What I read was stop sending private messages over OStatus by 2.0.

@oxenfree I'm a developer at Friendica. My goal is to connect as many networks as possible. Additionally I'm not a person that starts a fight or who fight just for politics.
Means: I will always try to cooperate with the developers of the other networks. With some this will be more like a friendship, with others this will be more professional. That's just reality. But I won't drop support for some protocol just because of "politics".

He has said OStatus would be turned off only when most of the Fediverse is on AP. On the other hand if that means by user count, simply all Masto going 1.6 would reach that point.
He has said at other times that Masto "temporarily" supports two protocols and therefore won't put too much effort into sorting out issues due to it having been designed for one protocol.
No need for deliberate FUD when official communication is muddy.

@clacke Like I said: Communication is the key. When Diaspora changed its protocol, the whole process was well documented and communicated. So every software developer had enough time to prepare the switch as well. This worked very well.
I hope that the Mastodon team will help other teams as well, concerning the points where the specifications had been unclear.
Activity Streams itself is not a real problem, but several things in the Activity Pub specification had been held unclear. This means that there is much room for assumptions. It would be bad if different teams would come to different ones.

@elizafox @nightpool @oxenfree @cybermeow ... but yeah, I can't find it either, whether on OStatus or on GitHub.
