If Mastodon would support the GNU social API you could use the Bridge Connector to GNU social for Mastodon as well. But I don't know what kind of API they use.

#Mastodon uses it's own client API, no Twitter compatibility.

@tobias @helpers @d3jblog @helpers There are API client libraries of varying quality, for at least Ruby, Python and Node. Haven't seen PHP.

@helpers @tobias @d3jblog @helpers But it's OStatus so #friendica already federates. I don't know what good a bridge would do.

@clacke The bridge exists traditionally so one can crosspost to an old account for the time not everyone has followed the new account. Or cannot as in the case of Twitter. For Mastodon I agree with you, but use-cases might be different.
