On Monday on another platform I posted a Judd Madden album to showcase what #Australia has to offer in the way of music.
Today, I'll share Isaac Graham's http://138.197.106.55/music/Isaac_Graham/Empty_Vessels/ here.
I have no idea why the FMA is an IP address now. It's really sad where the Free Music Archive has gone. Tracks are still not able to uploaded.
Nonetheless, there is still a thriving Creative Commons music scene. There are podcasts like The Bugcast and CCHits.net. There are netlabels like blocSonic and Hypnotic Dirge Records. Many more listed at https://netlabelguide.com/
SoundCloud still allows CC music. There is ccMixter.org. My personal favorite place for looking for music these days (other than http://blocsonic.com, of course), is Bandcamp.
We don't have a plan for bringing the FMA back to its former glory, but we are doing our part at the CC Community Music Awards to keep #ccmusic alive and well.
We still need a volunteer judge for #Oceania, which includes Australia, #NewZealand, and the #PacificIslands. Would you be interested in helping out?

I'm not sure to which one of those you were responding, since I discussed hosting and creating in separate posts. If you're interested in the music video aspect, I can reach reach out to https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3430436/ and see if he's got the bandwidth. He's one of the http://blocsonic.com owners with me. So far everything we've released has been CC, although I'm unsure if the upcoming Awesome Dre album will be. It'd be easy enough to make sure anything you worked on with us would be CC licensed. Our default was CC BY-NC-SA. Although I'd prefer it be CC BY-SA the old default was CC BY-NC-ND and I was able to get us to upgrade the license. Our musician contracts stipulate that they can pick CC BY-SA if we are releasing commercially, and CC BY if it's a non-commercial release. I spent two years working on this stuff basically full-time and aside from me joining blocSonic, really didn't see much come of it. To be successful, you either need someone hugely recognizable, a huge amount of time, or money...probably both. The FMA has been successful because of WFMU.

over the past five days, in no particular order: #cycling, !vcs, #pingpong, #cats, #running, http://blocsonic.com, http://ccmusicawards.com (not so much the sites themselves, but as a reference)...and the odds and ends of life. Oh, we had a pretty lame Star Wars party on Friday. We generally have pretty good work parties, but this one seemed flat even before the fact that I don't care anything about #StarWars. I hate #Disney, but the movies are fine themselves. I've just never been more than a casual fan.

So, apparently there was a thing where people get to pick music to start the day. I will be playing something from http://blocsonic.com if this becomes a thing. Any suggestions? It's definitely not the most conservative environment here, but I'm going to go ahead and take https://blocsonic.com/releases/bsog0074 of the list. !ccmusic

Anybody ever thought about doing something like the James Beard awards for #ccmusic? It'd be a massive undertaking, and not one I'd have time to lead, but one I could certainly help with through http://www.musicmanumit.com and http://blocsonic.com

@starfrosch did you hear I am now part of http://blocsonic.com?
