@ElDeadKennedy It's probably company swag, so they paid some company that normally makes this product to brand it for them.
Not sure why it's two distinct companies, though they are complimentary.

What technology, software, or practices do you still use despite the mainstream considering it obsolete?
@clacke When you're done watching that, this movie is highly recommended: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Guy
It's the story of an NPC living in a GTA Online-style video game world.
I wasn't expecting much going into it, but it turned out to be spectacularly good.
@logan That's why food scientists had to get involved in the creation of this monstrosity.
As an added bonus for the companies involved, people can't produce it with just sugar and broth in their kitchen.
@mdhughes @clacke You forgot Ada for the same reason as COBOL.
@TerryHancock Something I think many people overlook both in real homeownership and self-hosting is that you can hire people to do work for you.
Landlords often talk up the rental model by saying "we'll manage the property for you" but you can own your property and still not have to manage it. You can hire people to do maintenance, repairs, yard care, or even hire a property manager if you can't attend to those details yourself.
Why not for self-hosting too?
@Azure Perhaps the Federation just has truly dismal opsec because their engineers live in a utopia?
I mean, presumably the Federation military would have better security, but when military doctrine revolves around shields and teleporters, maybe cybersecurity is low on the list of priorities?
@clacke Chili peppers/capsaicin is especially hardcore because it evolved to be a deterrent specifically against mammals like us, and yet we not only think it tastes interesting but also breed varieties with this anti-us defense dialed up to 11 for fun.
@mdhughes Also, you know, the whole "the software they are promising is mathematically impossible" thing.

Me: You know what day it is?
Wife: Boxing Day!
Me: You know what that means?
Wife: The servants have the day off!
Both: That's us in this case! Woohoo!
Toddler: ?????
