@shortridge Their updater does it all, it pulls changes automatically outside of the OS methods. They broke it and fixed the update very quickly, but alas the damage was done on many machines as it is such a low level tool
You can hate the patriot act, the TSA, homeland security and all those infringements, and still believe Mohammed Atta is a piece of shit that is burning in hell, and that none of those people that were murdered on 9/11 deserved what happened to them It's not mutually exclusive.
@lnxw37b3@neikocat@Moon I do think we'll get a resurgence in a lot of 'going out and doing things with other people' stuff. Theaters have rested on their laurels for years though.
@CarolDanvers I knew back in Summer when the news about vaccines really started to land that this would precipitate a surge in anti-vaxx rhetoric like we'd never seen before. When you combine conspiracy theory thinking with the urgent timelines you've got a recipe for stupid.
If this is true then Google are not merely scanning files for software fingerprints but are parsing them through ML and deciding what users are permitted to read. Absolutely disgraceful.
@lnxw48a1 ..And I should say I don't think it's their fault. They're often working to a fatally loose brief, have too much design freedom and end up frustrated when they run into organisational and infrastructure walls.
There's an insidious and deceitful form of Nazi revisionism that seems to occur in the comments of any history-focused video essay. It drives me nuts that these people are so ignorant yet think they're being clever.
