@finlaydag33k@feditips aren't mastodon instances actually storing content of those from other instances that someone is following? in theory, if you follow your own account on another instance and instance A suddenly goes down, aren't toots still available on other instances?
Safely at the hotel. And Google Map instructions and calculated times were actually quite right. But, what I didn't know that it will take me via high mountain pass Col de Montgenèvre (1860m) with snow and -1°C! It was pretty scary at some point as everything seemes like I will soon start sliding down the mountain with all the scenography in the van... But everything was all right at the end...
a seemingly pleasurable sunday morning, all chill with relatively empty Italian motorways, always great Italian espresso, I have 618km ahead of me (5hr22min by gmaps' calculation)
despite the hotel breakfast including coffee I needed another one within less then an hour of driving
Started at very human hours from Porto - forgot something in the hotel, so more or less left Porto at 1130 local time. Some rain but not too much. Roads are not crowded. Entered Spain, found a stop near Verín, nap, coffee. Continuing at 1545 (UTC+2). Destination for tonight is France, near Biarritz.
Quick nap less than 2h away from sleepover destination. No coffee. Lotsa water. Night has fallen, leaving the Spanish plains, entering mountains. Traffic is a bit more intense now. Will pass through the Euskal/Basque part in hour and a halfm Probably.
Drove for 2:15, passed León, but before that some snowcapped 'hills' with lotsa wibd turbines. Again sime showers but bot much. Traffic is chill. Thinking of Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders and soundtrack to it by Ry Cooder. Took another nap and now a coffee. My breaks are much longer (almost an hour) than anticipated.
Plan for today is to arrive to Savone, Italy. 980km.
Oh and in Spain and France they seem to not care about COVID19. At least judging from the fact that nobody is wearing masks, even those who cough and sneeze and have a runny nose.
no more drama just a gray cover water coming down traffic intensifies toulouse périphérique rest-stop longer than intended body-mind demands road materialism
some **ck-up with accommodation (small italian hotels actually close at 22h and cannot accommodate you if yoi arrive later) so - change of hotel and destination for tonight - near Torino.
I'm already past Aix-en-Provence, had a nap and some foos at calm rest-stop (no shops, makes a huge difference). Thunder and rain on and off though.
Continuing into the night. If I make it till hotel at 1am I'm good!
