gregthe film i scored for my friend liryc dela cruz premieres in nottingham, uk tomorrow as part of the uk young artists festival! it is at the broadway gallery until 13 february and is free. this may be the only chance to see the version with two screens, so if you are nearby, go take a look! i like it a lot
from the description: "While We Are Nowehere is a 2 channel film installation that aims to present the condition of refugees and asylum seekers while seeking for refuge and waiting for answers while processing asylum requests as a live experience through objects and landscapes. The projections are accompanied by a polyphonic soundtrack that drowns out human poetic and political presence."
in 2004 my family replaced their aging computer with a new one, and i was able to get the old one moved into my bedroom. this was what allowed me to do my first experiments with #gnu / linux, starting with the knoppix 3.5 live disk. i remember being amazed by the concept of a live cd. given that the computer was no longer in our kitchen and the continually resetting state of the live disk, this allowed me to really explore the net for the 1st time.
embrace what's "bad" about your writing or posting on here and just roll with it. be committed to developing your own personality, no matter how off-beat, which is not the same as building a "brand." some of the people i admire most on here combine absolute drivel with some of the most stirring and touching things i've read in a long time, but rather than hurt their credibility as a ~content creator~, this makes them more of a person. as people can connect, and brands can only go out of style.
as mentioned earlier, i will now livetoot reflections on a "twilight zone" episode chosen at random, 'the lonely.' these will be spur of the moment and rather immediate. #scifi#philosophy#theoryhttps://vimeo.com/141205172
i am happy to announce that i scored a dual-screen #film for the incredible filmmaker liryc paolo dela cruz ("notes from unknown maladies," "the ebb of forgetting," lav diaz's "norte, the end of history").
it will screen as part of the uk young artists festival from feb 7 to feb 13 at the broadway gallery in nottingham, uk. the score was written for sine wave and recorded on my no-input mixer.
