Some people will complain that a magazine or journal or professional society shouldn't endorse a candidate.
But if an arsonist was running for office, campaigning on the promise of bigger and more dangerous fires, those people wouldn't scold firefighters for endorsing the opponent. https://mastodon.social/@laurahelmuth/113148160165144956
Sign this Resistbot petition demanding that elected leaders do something about US reliance on space and telecom infrastructure controlled by Elon Musk.
He has near total control over essential infrastructure, he has already used it to interfere in foreign policy, and he is stuck in the same right wing intel radicalization spiral as every gamer gather who ever tried to live out a revenge fantasy.
Letting this guy be in charge of starlink and spacex is a national security risk. He’s radicalized, erratic, and dangerous. Nationalize both companies and boot him.
Also, the Dark Horse Mignolaverse Humble Bundle is back. I got this one the last time around and it's great.
For $18 you get almost all the BPRD books, and if you spent $30 they throw in most of the Hellboy books. Mostly high res pdfs, with some (DRM-free) ePubs for the novels and short stories.
Looks like this bundle is US only, though some folks told me it was no problem using a VPN to get it (and then download the books from Kobo). The ePubs have the usual Adobe DRM that comes with many (all>) HarperCollins ebooks on Kobo.
@phi1997 If you look on the Kobo page, at least some of them (haven't checked all) are provided as ePubs with Adobe DRM (which is removable with the right tools).
For fans of Terry Pratchett, or the Pratchett-curious, there's a Humble Bundle right now with 35 Discworld books (epubs through Kobo) for around $20. Pay more to donate more to charity.
Bike friends! Am I wrong that this is a perfectly okay way to store a bike? I’m assuming the weight of the bike on one tire is no big deal compared to my weight (plus the bike’s weight) on two.
