Because everything is polluted with this shit now, this means that future models will likely regress and actually get worse over time even with more and more energy and time spent to create them.

Are right-wing tech fartwaffles so enamored with generative AI because it matches their view of how humans should think (aka making shit up until something sticks)?

Computers as tools for humans are so useful exactly *because* they can’t think and do tedious work like calculations or information storage and retrieval for humans in a *deterministic* way.

It took like nearly 90 years of digital computers to make them powerful enough to run a wasteful algorithm that pretends to think (but doesn’t) and to deliver bullshit non-deterministic results while using absurd amounts of computational and environmental resources.

For anyone who needs to hear this: it's OK to be wrong about things. You can have a change of opinion or beliefs after hearing more information and facts.

That's not a personal failure.
It's personal growth.
