@Gargron best you can do is document along the way and add lots of links to those docs. not everyone will read the links but at least you get to be justifiably snarky when people ask questions they could have found answers for on their own 🙃

All our drain traps are like this, whyyyyy

Apparently it’s technically up to code, but all the plumbers I found online hate it too.

Our bathroom sink needs a new drain tailpiece so I thought I’d do some DIY plumbing. Turns out our PVC trap is glued into the wall instead of attached with a slip joint, so I would need to saw it open and replace the trap too.

This is the exact thing my dad knows about and I’m looking forward to getting some advice/being lent tools.
