@colegota I guess now you understand, why I don't want to make "Send Reduced” an internal part of AndStatus: that feature needs its own improvements, bug fixing etc. And thanks god there _is_ another developer, who started this work. Please propose new features and report bugs of that application to https://github.com/arpruss/sendreduced/issues
@escobrice You already _have_ this feature. It only happens to be packaged separately from AndStatus. I'm not joking. Please install ”Send Reduced" and try to use it with AndStatus.
@escobrice Some time ago we thought that the whole phone is one app :-) Seriously, AndStatus has lots of requests for features that cannot be delegated to other applications...
@colegota I could copy-paste into AndStatus code of "Send Reduced" as well. But cooperating with other applications and their developers looks more efficient from development point of view. Good "Send Reduced" implementation is more than several lines of code?! @escobrice
I think somebody noticed that "Single click to open context menu" usually requires two clicks on a message body, which has clickable links. This inconvenience is fixed now. See in the next release.
@colegota Thank you for the tip. "Send Reduced" open source application. available via F-Droid, can be used to reduce size of attached images on the fly. Even if you attach an image to your draft message, you can select "Get Reduced Photo" from a list of sources. As I did in this post. As I see, the "Send Reduced" application is not that simple, including its settings. So maybe there is no real point to implement the same feature inside AndStatus?! @escobricehttps://loadaverage.org/attachment/3029567
@colegota This is exactly why I implemented "tinting" (coloring) of Favorite and Reblog buttons. Moreover the tint color is changed with a selected Action Bar color. One problem: the Tint works on Android starting from v.5.0. So you see black icons instead of colored, because firmware on your device is too old...
It appeared that AndStatus v.26.03 is incompatible with Android 4.x. So if you have Android 4, please download new version from Google Play now or wait for AndStatus v.26.04 in F-Droid repository. I published the fix in v.26.04 very quickly, but I published it initially to Google Play only because I was unaware that the same buggy release was published by F-Droid also. Only several hours later one of users, who reported a crash of v.26.03, told me, that he installed it from F-Droid... I created special release tag for F-Droid in AndStatus source code repository, but I don't know, when it will be published by F-Droid.
@alexivanov In practice, it is often hard and time consuming to find out a cause of a problem, when someone reports a bug in a post. Because context of investigation and fixing is being lost very quickly. Except for trivial cases. History of discussions is often lost, and it's not easy to find similar case. Two - way communication in a specialized place is far more effective. It creates a sort of Knowledge Base of an application...
@andstatus Yeah, GIFs are special. And people don't always want them to be animated by default (click to activate). I hate GIF. :] But the patent stuff on GIF has already expired, so that's a plus: https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/gif.en.html "the patents that were used to attack GIF have expired".
