It's understandable that the idea of not federating some places is not a concept that some will be thrilled about.
But mst3k is not about libertarian advocacy or ideas, and never has been. There are other instances which do a good enough job of this.
NOTE:
Silencing of instances and users does not mean you can't follow them. It means they are filtered from the federated timeline. If you continue to see problematic content from users on an instance, you're following someone who is boosting or saying said content.
It goes without saying that it's recommended to unfollow them if it consistently causes distress.
Regarding rule enforcement:
mst3k will start by using less extreme methods to filter content, like filtering individual problematic users, or instances from the federated timeline for more systemic issues.
More aggressive methods like blocking users and instances will be done if that fails to resolve issues.
social.i2p.rocks has been blocked due to harbouring white supremacists.
mst3k.interlinked.me users will not be able to interact with anyone on this instance.
We apologise for any inconvenience.
Hello!
Effective immediately, we are now owned by the Interlinked Foundation, a non-profit incorporated in the state of Oklahoma in the United States.
@luciferMysticus @awilfox and @Elizafox are presently the trustees of the Interlinked Foundation by default as incorporators.
FOR MST3K USERS:
We're going to elect our trustees soon. If anyone would like to participate, let us know.
It does mean using IRC or voice for meetings but doesn't confer much duty other than helping steer us.
@maiyannah OMG, I found this and it works on the Guardian and FT pages I tested. Thanks for the kick, should've checked for this before I tooted :P https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/amp2html/
