sazius on Mayfirst (saziusmayfirst@social.mayfirst.org)'s status on Sunday, 25-Jan-2015 18:02:34 UTC sazius on Mayfirst @mv @mcnalu I don't view it as saving capitalism, but rather a step in the right direction in a continuous spectrum. At least in the good old days the social democratic movement wanted to achieve socialism by small steps by reforming capitalism. (Today I don't know what they want anymore...) -

sazius on Mayfirst (saziusmayfirst@social.mayfirst.org)'s status on Sunday, 25-Jan-2015 10:08:04 UTC sazius on Mayfirst @mattl I don't care that much about what numbers are used, but the good thing with the Firefox system is that it becomes less "dramatic" to make a new release, so you get more releases. OTOH, updating your Firefox may be easier than updating your GNU Social instance... :-) -
sazius on Mayfirst (saziusmayfirst@social.mayfirst.org)'s status on Sunday, 25-Jan-2015 10:05:53 UTC sazius on Mayfirst @mv I agree, but in the best case government may be people from those movements. This is how the Nordic countries got strong social security, by strong unions building a political party that got into government (because people voted for them). And even after that, direct actions such as general strikes etc, were needed to convince the other parties in government. So I think both strategies are needed, not just either or. -

sazius on Mayfirst (saziusmayfirst@social.mayfirst.org)'s status on Saturday, 24-Jan-2015 15:16:19 UTC sazius on Mayfirst @mv Yeah, I don't think that will be the big problem. But we need to decide when it's in a good enough shape to start pushing it to Debian. cc: @stigatle -
sazius on Mayfirst (saziusmayfirst@social.mayfirst.org)'s status on Saturday, 24-Jan-2015 15:15:04 UTC sazius on Mayfirst @mv @stigatle my theory is that the desktop file no longer works properly if you install manually to /usr/local ... problem is now it's correct for the real installation using the .deb package... :-/ -
sazius on Mayfirst (saziusmayfirst@social.mayfirst.org)'s status on Saturday, 24-Jan-2015 15:10:03 UTC sazius on Mayfirst @mv Perhaps at some point, but need to discuss with @stigatle first when is the right time. (And then we need a Debian Developer to bless it.) -

sazius on Mayfirst (saziusmayfirst@social.mayfirst.org)'s status on Saturday, 24-Jan-2015 15:08:53 UTC sazius on Mayfirst @stigatle it depends how @mv is installing it, there needs to be a yaics.desktop file and it needs to point to the right icon. -
