off to my #hammock! slow but sure progress today. Set up Dynamic DNS for one subdomain (for Hal, the NAS) at a free service; can CNAME it back to my own (sub)domain. Only thing is, their service cannot detect my IPv6 address, so I'll have to find something different, or create that myself. (I like the latter, if it's not too hard.) Now looking at tiny-small VPSs to host such little "services" on - maybe later also a DNS server. :) And still looking for a free DNS host (until I DIY) - NameCheap is out, but there are other options, I just have to test (and that takes time). So, good night !tzaf !fediverse !tempfix and everyone else :D

Off to my #hammock now. Tried setting up a zone on NameCheap free DNS service - but I'm not happy with how that went and it may actually be wrong (no way to set, edit or even see the SOA record) - let's see what we have #tomorrow. Good night !tzaf !fediverse !tempfix #dns #namecheap

OK, #hammock time for me after a successful day. Second-guessing the Linode API and figuring out how to "tell" it to get an IPv6 address instead of an IPv4 one - all my studying and reading has not been for nothing :) Good night !tzaf !fediverse !tempfix - see you all #tomorrow

@mk I managed to do that - 15 bulbs in all, using bamboo sticks to mark out places first: hard work, actually, my right wrist now hurts. :( but, it's all done so I'm happy, and looking forward to next spring to see what comes up (as opposed to the poor single white grape hyacinth that was all the #bulbs found in my #garden).
