#NOAA / #NWS has issued Winter storm advisories for the Greater #Los_Angeles area. Expecting snow and heavy rains in the mountains (primarily the seaward side), rains and runoff in the foothills and valleys. Gusty winds expected across #SoCal, so possible power outages as well.
Areas in and below the scars of recent wildfires should prepare for potential mudflows.
Parts of #California are expected to receive and atmospheric river of cold precipitation over the next few days.

* 2-4 inches of snow above 5500 feet elevation, some locations up to 8 inches; some snow possible down to 3500 feet elevation (which could affect passes)
* Expect restricted visibility and slick roads.
Not included in this advisory, but I’d expect mountain areas in #Los_Angeles and #San_Diego counties to likewise receive snowfall.

Winter weather advisory for Southwest and Southern #MO. Rain will change to snow and continue into Friday. Minor snow accumulations expected, particularly over elevated areas of the Ozark Plateau. Moderate snowfall rates could lead to slick roadways.
Includes Springfield, Branson, West Plains, and a number of other cities.
What: rain followed by wet snow. Up to two inches of accumulation.
When: 2021-01-06 21:00 to 2021-01-07 15:00 CST.
Where: The following #Missouri counties South of a line from Mount Vernon to Salem: Texas, Dent, Greene, Webster, Wright, Lawrence, Christian, Douglas, Howell, Shannon, Barry, Stone, Taney, Ozark, Oregon.

What: fog; heavy snow; winds SW 20-40MPH, with gusts above 50MPH
Where: above 4,500 feet; heavier above 5,500 feet.
When: 01:00 PST to 23:59 PST.

#NOAA / #NWS issues Winter storm watch for mountain areas of #SoCal's #San_Bernardino, #Riverside, #San_Diego Counties. Monday 2020-12-28, a cold storm will arrive. 306 inches of heavy snow showers and gusty SW winds through Monday night. Heavier snowfall expected above 5,000 feet. Some localized places could receive 8-12 inches of snow.
Expected to affect travel ... possibly including the Cajon Pass (which could affect people returning from vacationing in Las Vegas)

If you're here in #SoCal, be aware. (Nothing mentioned about Los Angeles, Orange, or Ventura counties, so they could have a similar alert that I just haven't seen.

From 2020-12-07 04:00 PST to 2020-12-08 22:00. NE winds from 20-30MPH, with gusts to 40MPH (and up to 50MPH in/below certain passes and canyons). Relative humidity 10-20%. Outdoor burning not recommended, as fires will spread rapidly.

The wind events seem to be mild. #NOAA / #NWS is tagging them as Santa Anas, and they are coming from the Northeast and coldish on this side of the mountains, but they aren't the 70MPH winds I expect when I hear about Santa Ana winds.
Still, there's a fire weather warning for !SoCal areas in #San_Bernardino and #Riverside and #Orange and #San_Diego counties from the mountains to the beaches. Winds expected to be 20-30MPH with gusts to 40MPH and higher speeds in the foothills; humidity 10 to 20 percent.
Outdoor burning not recommended, as any brush fires will spread rapidly.

There’s also a line of severe #t-storms in SE #KS and SW #MO, moving E at 60MPH. Hazards include 1 inch hail and straight-line winds.
Mostly past Pittsburg and Joplin, now passing through Nevada.

#NOAA / #NWS alert: Fire weather watch for #SoCal: #San_Bernardino, #Riverside, #Orange counties ... mountains and passes. Strong winds, low humidities. In effect from Thursday (Thanksgiving) 2020-11-26 afternoon through Friday evening 2020-11-27.
Northeast winds 20-30MPH, with gusts 50-60MPH, isolated gusts to 65MPH. Humidity falling rapidly to less that 15%.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.

#NOAA / #NWS minor #flood alert for mid #MO. Just a few hours after a #red_flag warning from SW MO to mid #IL (strong winds, low humidity). Based on current and expected rainfall, there may be some riverbank overflow. Stay away from creeks, streams, rivers, and low-lying areas.

#NOAA / #NWS has been warning about fire weather in the Kansas City area, now the state of Kansas is warning about a large fire in Shawnee County. If you’re in the area, turn to your local agencies and broadcast stations for alerts and updates.

#NOAA / #NWS warning for a line of severe #t-storms in a generally NNE-SSW direction, moving eastward at 40MPH. Springfield, Lebanon, Jefferson City, Columbia, #MO. There have been a couple of #tornado warnings from just NE of Springfield through Lebanon, and now through St Robert, Waynesville, and Rolla.
Besides tornadoes, expect straightline winds of up to 60MPH, quarter sized hail, rain.

#NOAA / #NWS issuing flash flood watch in !SoCal's #San_Bernardino and #Riverside counties ... areas near the Apple Fire and El Dorado Fire burn scars, including San Gorgonio Pass and Banning.
Locally heavy rains could result in debris flows in and below the burned areas. Normally dry riverbeds and culverts may be overwhelmed with water, mud, rocks, and other debris. Dangerous flash flooding possible.
