I went with #Mullvad #VPN. The connection is perceptibly slower, but the DNS errors are gone. The original plan was to get both Mullvad and #NordVPN, but I think I'll just use the one for a while.
#Hotel_INET (whether "wired" or #Hotel_Wi-Fi) is generally not trustworthy enough to use without a VPN. When #Tunnelr (a now-closed VPN service) shut down, I didn't get their announcement. I was in a hotel in #MO and found a large list of sites that were suddenly blocked because I couldn't log into my VPN.
In that case, the hotel's service provider was local, so when I told the lady at the front desk I was going to move to another hotel over the blocking, the hotel manager called and put someone from the service provider on the phone ... he then logged into the firewall and edited the rules until I was satisfied.

Told #sonTwo to monitor temperature in #GS3's room and to bring him into their room if it gets too cool in there.

The tornado warnings have all expired. Now I'm getting #NOAA / #NWS warnings for minor flooding on various streams and rivers across eastern #KS; western, southwestern, and central #MO
-
I don’t know if the third alert is the same rotational storm that was over Neosho, but #NOAA / #NWS currently says there is radar indicated rotation near Granby #MO, 11 miles W of Monett, moving E at 25 MPH.
Again, the possible #tornado is radar indicated.
-
Second #tornado warning for Joplin #MO itself.
According to #NOAA / #NWS, this one is over Baxter Springs #KS, moving E at 30MPH. Radar indicated rotation.
Affected areas include #I-44 between mile markers 0 and 13, #I-49 between mile markers 30 and 35.
-
#NOAA / #NWS #tornado warning for Neosho #MO, SE of Joplin. If you’re in SE #KS or SW MO, make sure your cellular phone has emergency alerts turned on ... if you have a weather radio, make sure it still works, so it can pick up alerts for your area.
Radar indicated rotation, moving E at 35 MPH. Potential impacts include #I49 between mile markers 25 and 27.

@geniusmusing @storm Also, as I mentioned to my brother, even Arkansas has raised its minimum wage (currently $11.00/hour). I haven’t really been there (accidentally drove across the state border from #MO once), but my impression is that it is one of the poorer states. If #AR can do it, then probably only MS, AL, TN, KY, and WV could honestly say they don’t think they can afford it. That means states like IN and OH can just shut up and raise minwage themselves instead of waiting in dread for the feds to do it.

#NOAA / #NWS issuing flood warnings for SW and mid #MO. Highway department reports flooding on roads NE, E, SE, S of Springfield ... including #I-44 through Lebanon and Rolla.
-

Snow in #NE tonight, rain and some minor flooding in #MO.
-
The way the Rams extorted St Louis #MO to promise to pay for all sorts of prizes, then left them anyway. That also leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
-
My daughter-in-law and #GS3 are on their way back to #MO today. They were visiting his other grandparents and great grandparents for Thanksgiving.
-
It is 18:00 in #NE. I guess I'm not having a #videochat with those grandkids today. I'll try one of the ones in #MO.
-
There’s also a line of severe #t-storms in SE #KS and SW #MO, moving E at 60MPH. Hazards include 1 inch hail and straight-line winds.
Mostly past Pittsburg and Joplin, now passing through Nevada.
#NOAA / #NWS alert: severe thunderstorm warning
-
#NOAA / #NWS minor #flood alert for mid #MO. Just a few hours after a #red_flag warning from SW MO to mid #IL (strong winds, low humidity). Based on current and expected rainfall, there may be some riverbank overflow. Stay away from creeks, streams, rivers, and low-lying areas.

@mangeurdenuage For some reason, I can't find xsalt-free potato chips in #SoCal, so I don't eat chips very often. In #MO, most supermarkets have them in small quantities.
-
Now the worst part of the line of storms has passed some areas, so tornado watches are being cancelled. Includes areas around Pittsburg and Ft Scott in #KS and Nevada in #MO. Also includes area W of Columbia and Sedalia.
-
#NOAA / #NWS warning for a line of severe #t-storms in a generally NNE-SSW direction, moving eastward at 40MPH. Springfield, Lebanon, Jefferson City, Columbia, #MO. There have been a couple of #tornado warnings from just NE of Springfield through Lebanon, and now through St Robert, Waynesville, and Rolla.
Besides tornadoes, expect straightline winds of up to 60MPH, quarter sized hail, rain.
If you're in #Missouri or nearby states, you should make sure you're prepared to shelter. You have your NOAA weather radio, right?
