@amic The bad thing about #Flash being bundled in #Chrome, #Edge, #MSIE is that users don’t even know they have it until they try #Firefox and wonder why videos & animations on some sites don’t work.
I would love to see all major browsers completely block all Flash months ahead of their schedules.
Hey #decentralization oriented people, there is a #DAT add-on for #Firefox 🔥 :firefox: that enables you to check content powered by @dat_project on your favorite independent browser, check out:
"I'm glad they are finally tackling this. But there's a better way to do this, and it can be done for both private and public browsing: Outside of the same domain, referer should only contain the domain. Period.
In the age of surveillance, there's no good reason to send more information than that to 3rd parties."
Slightly off: I'm curious about #Beaker why are they building a new browser instead of extending an existing one? Their browser is, quite honestly, absolutely horrible. It also doesn't support any of the addons I rely on. Couldn't they have added #dat support to #Firefox with WebExtensions? Or just fork Firefox like #TorBrowser did?
You want to break with old habits? Getting used to use a new search engine, online translator, etc. can be really hard. I just learned about #LeechBlock, a nice #Firefox and #Chromium extension which allows you to block certain URLs or forward them. You can set up rules like "forward google.com to startpage.com" or "forward translate.google.com to deepl.com". Now every time your bad habit kicks in, your browser will remind you what you really want to do. 😀 http://www.proginosko.com/leechblock/
When a FOSS organisation behaves the way that Mozilla did, adding insult to injury with their statement in denial, it's the job of the FOSS community to tell them they're fucking up.
