The beauty of this "special topics" approach was that there is ALWAYS a kernel of introductory or low-level university physics in ANY topic, even topics like # DarkMatter and # quantumphysics This was a way to get the STUDENTS to choose something of wider interest to them and yet STILL deliver essential introductory # physics ideas ... wrapped up in something THEY wanted to learn.
