@meena @rysiek @feonixrift Wait, how come that, between EXIF tags and other types of metadata in image files, it's not the norm that authoring tools maintain a copy of all text (preserved across layer operations, & possibly culled to visible at export) and store it as metadata on export?
It would solve a *lot* of problems with images authored by non-tech-savvy people (or uncaring, or in a hurry) - not just accessibility, but also e.g. recovering text from a highly compressed JPEG that should've been a PNG.
