2. First evidence for off-shell production of the Higgs boson and measurement of its width
  
  The first evidence for off-shell Higgs production is reported in the final state with two Z bosons decaying into either four charged leptons (muons or electrons), or two charged leptons and two neutrinos, and a measurement of the Higgs boson width is performed. Results are based on data from the CMS experiment at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of up to 140 fb$^{-1}$. The total rate of off-shell Higgs boson production beyond the Z boson pair production threshold, relative to its standard model expectation, is constrained to the interval [0.0061, 2.0] at 95% confidence level. The scenario with no off-shell production is excluded at 99.97% confidence level (3.6 standard deviations). The width of the Higgs boson is extracted as $Γ_{\mathrm{H}}$ = 3.2$_{-1.7}^{+2.4}$ MeV, in agreement with the standard model expectation of 4.1 MeV. The data are also used to set new constraints on anomalous Higgs boson couplings to W and Z boson pairs.

I am being overly polite here. It is ... FRUSTRATING ... that weather forecasting is not taken seriously at my university. The fact that they have been unable to do what businesses and other schools did HOURS ago, and cancel on-campus instruction on Thursday, is ridiculous.

  @steve The Spanish national TV has just said exactly the same. And right now 50% of the people in ICU in Spain with covid(20% of the total) is unvaccinated the other 50% have other other diseases which makes them vulnerable and most of them over 70 years old.

@clacke Yeah I get that, here it's a file on my desktop that gets filtered by a script, there's stuff from nearly 10 years ago in there so I quite trust it.
Meanwhile I don't trust a phone for even keeping contacts.

@clacke Medical science here is paid for with tax dollars and then the treatments and care are sold back to the taxpayer at high prices through a private system. AND states have sold the information to various entities—Texas sold theirs to the Pentagon, for some reason. So, it's a hellscape herre.
