     @gargron If you could fetch and reply to remote posts, that'd be awesome. GNU Social can't, but I suppose the protocol doesn't disallow it.

     @clacke I dunno tbh! Like, on my end, it's all in the thread. https://mastodon.social/users/Gargron/updates/9729 It's true though that Mastodon only does <thr:in-reply-to /> and none of the other "special" tags, mostly because I didn't find standards documents for them

     How odd. SLC qvitter seems to recognise it as a reply to me. I wonder if someone on quitter follows me... could that be to do with it?

     Yeah. We do have a few quirky bugs when it comes to this. Sometimes, a reply that should come after a post ends up appearing to be before it. That is a funny one.

     @clacke @sim @panjoozek You know I had an issue open for that on the GS gitlab for over 6 months now https://git.gnu.io/gnu/gnu-social/issues/164 I have to say that it works on *some* instances and not others and that's really weird. My avatar is correct on quitter.se for example.
