@cmhobbs Don't give up your right to vote. Protesting by not voting is indistinguishable from not voting due to apathy. If you can, make a write in vote for the candidate who will best represent you. Or go to the poll clerk and indicate that you decline to vote - that way your ballot is counted without supporting any candidate who does not represent you. As a last resort spoil your ballot, but protesting by spoiling your ballot is indistinguishable from spoiling your ballot through ignorance or stupidity. If enough people don't bother to vote enough of the time, eventually someone will decide that we no longer need to bother with elections.

@zykotick9 @cmhobbs Yes, in #Ontario provincial elections you can decline to vote, and while they're counted separately from spoiled ballots there's no practical difference. Federally there's not even an option to decline to vote, although the previous Chief Electoral Officer recommended it (along with a "None of the above" option on ballots). But if the Electoral System was working properly we wouldn't need those options. !ElectoralReform !CdnPoli
