Jon KulpWhen the University rolls out Banner, the new ERP, one of the features is a requirement that people change their password frequently, like every 60 days? This is supposed to be a security feature. Raise your hand if you think this is just going to make it 10x less secure than it is currently because people will start writing down their passwords and taping them underneath their keyboards. o/
@perloid I'm not in any position to decide about this, but I do know some of the people in charge so I guess I could make the obvious comment. I doubt that they have not anticipated this, because they're pretty smart people.
@perloid @expatpaul This won't be a problem for me because I use a password manager, but I remember before I learned about password managers and I had a system where I had to change the password every 30 days or so, I just kept a little sheet of paper in my desk and crossed out the old one and made a new one and kept it written down or else I would never remember it. I'm guessing 98% of the faculty and staff at the University will use this method
