Wow, this thread is growing into epic proportions! Once again, I wish there was a way to bookmark a *thread* (as a thing, not just its to post!)

@mbjunior not too late to at least do everythnig possible to avoid being bitten by a mosquito! cover up, use repellent, use an impregnated mosquito net, etc... How far along is the pregnancy? I remember you told us, but not when that was :(
-
@mbjunior the case for an impregnated net is very simple: better safe than sorry! Distributing impregnated nets has helped enormously with reducing deaths from malaria. Does it matter if you know how many mosquitoes there are in a particular location? No, because *with* it the number doesn't matter. It's not speculation that impregnated nets help prevent deaths.

@mbjunior then surely by this time an echogram should be able to reveal whether the baby has microcephaly. Do you have access to such prenatal care? (Not that that should bring you to avoid being bitten by mosquitos, of course, but it might take away some of the panic you referred to.)
-
@mbjunior I've seen it on vacation fairs, so I looked it up for you - what they call it is "contact insecticide" (a mosquito that lands on it dies): http://www.careplus.eu/en/anti-insect/impregnated-mosquitonets/ - this definitely fights malaria mosquitoes (and thus other disease-spreading mosquitoes) better than a regular net. "The long-lasting impregnation remains effective for up to three years." IMO the price is like health insurance - if you can afford it... but this same type of net is provided in areas in Africa: from what I read, the effect it has on mortality makes economic sense, so recipients don't have to pay for it.

@mbjunior love it! It's quite comfortable already - even though the renovations still need to be done. I have to spend most time now at the old house to organize / sort / throw out / pack etc. But I much prefer to be in Groningen now (in spite of the hay fever attack which will reoccur every year now!). That makes it harder... ;-)
-
@mbjunior ah, but I'm going to enlarge/remodel the house before I move!
-
@mk Now me has house too!! Hooray! Had to share that once you've recently experienced all of the the winding procedures involved too. #whew
-
@mbjunior that's fantastic news! Congratulations! :-D
-
@mbjunior haha - are we in a race now? I hope not! ;-)

@bobjonkman yes. But there's no way to "bookmark" or "favorite" that conversation in GS/SN.
