♥: 'part of #Twitter's larger strategy of #monetizing&commodifying our #emotions& threatens to steer journalism towards th "loveable"
-
@mcscx @steve interesting. i have thought about is not as commodification, but to try to make us produce _more_ commodities (data). >
-
@mcscx @steve > i think they have measured that the average person (not power users) will heart something more often than they will star it
-
@mcscx @steve do twitter really want to create a "happy" place? i think they also make money from the conflicts/misunderstandings
-
@hannes2peer @mcscx @steve they want to be more like facebook, at least they want the shareholder value of facebook
-
@der @hannes2peer #Facebook announced an (additional) Empathy button some weeks ago, so Twitter investors may have asked for that too @steve
-
@der true. the heart is a part of that. but the big thing will be filtering. the default stream will soon be "highlights" @mcscx @steve
-
@mcscx i wonder if that will ever come, or if it was a "test baloon", or to steer away attention from something @der @steve
-
@hannes2peer @der afaik Facebook already filters or re-orders posts, so investors will ask Twitter so do the same. @steve
-
@mcscx Yes they do. They call it "algorithm" of interests.
-
@vinzv @mcscx I had a facebook account approx. 1 year ago. You can pay money to make your posts reach more people. It's capitalism deluxe!
-
@vinzv @mcscx if you don't pay, your posts only reach far if those few that get them react alot to them (reposts, likes, comments). So even
-
@vinzv @mcscx ..if you "follow" someone, you will likely not see their updates if they are not very popular. Facebook suxxxorz so badly!! :D
-
@mcscx @hannes2peer @steve Yeah! That happens when you take the fruit from the forbidden loom i.E. investor's money.
