Removed facebook from my phone, disabled facebook chat both on phone and on the computer, I log off, then just briefly log on to check when needed, then log out again, It feels good. Facebook is 99% waste of time and energy. Nothing of importance is there to be honest, only good thing is that it's easy for grandma to click like on pictures I post. Also I hate to have it on my phone, it grabs so much data from it. all contacts and all their info and what not..

@cmhobbs I'm very close to doing that now..
-
@stigatle Just do it. Whomever wants to contact you will do it some other way. You are more important than Facebook - so people won't stop talking to you just because they can't find you there!
-
@kzimmermann @cmhobbs I'm also getting rid of it, currently grabbing all the data so that I have a backup, then I'll delete everything. I still need it for android development, but at least it won't hold any data and will not be used. Next up is flashing my phone with a non-google OS.

@ericxdu23 @kzimmermann @kzimmermann@quitter.se @stigatle@quitter.no I cant use replicant due to it draining the battery, also it misses some important features (wifi and image preview + graphics acceleration).. so cyanogenmod is what I'll go for.

@nicolasmaia yeah, that's the app I've been using for a long while now. But I decided not to use facebook \ twitter on my phone at all. But still - Tinfoil for facebook \ twitter is a very good app.
-
@kzimmermann@quitter.se , yeah, it is.. But hopefully one day it'll all be supported :)
-
@albertcentauri @kzimmermann @cmhobbs Thanks for the tip :) I'll fix this over the weekend. I've run cyanogenmod before, I really like it.
-
It does not drain your battery? (for me on my previous phone it did - galaxy note 2.), currently I have a galaxy note 4, I do not think it's supported on that one (it's not listed on their site).
-
yeah, that's what's worrying me a bit. But for now I just keep logged out, and just 'stay out' not being active, and do not have it on my phone and such for now. I do not think I'll be able to completely delete my account, but I'll use it much less and get rid of the habit of wasting time scrolling through all the shit there.

@stigatle I never use the app, only the web. There are too many intelligent people and interesting discussions for me to leave.
-
@clacke first person I ever saw say there are intelligent people and interesting discussions on Facebook! Most folks moan about the idiocy!
-
@luke I am lucky to know these people! If they weren't there, I wouldn't be.
-
It's about the company you keep. There are smart people in my fb and twitter feeds.

@davehunt Exactly.
