well, great breakthrough today! in spite of that, I'm still running into #git walls not quite understanding what the different commands actually *do*. But never mind, I'll learn. And I'm working towards an application (setting up ASUSTOR NAS as Git repository server) that no one has described so far - in fact there's an open question about that on the forum.
