#phew! I spent part of yesterday, and all of today since 7 hours to get the #Wordpress site on Hal (the NAS) working - some simple changes for security, but I had non-appearing errors that referred to pathig errors that I could not find the source from. Finally done. For now I'll leave it local, just as a conveient place to write up notes, but eventually I may make it public.

So... let's try: I made a backup of all the files, and of the database, and then clicked the button. And yes, fully automatically the software was upgraded, and I got a new login prompt. Site (teh default page) also still displays well. And now a *lot* of plugins become available that require a version greater than 3.4.1 - so, on to the security plugins! (I'll also need to put the tweaks of my theme in a child plugin.) When all that is done, I can finally start to write... \o/

@mk nifty: added a plugin called WP secure login which providea 2-factor #authentication for logging in to your Wordpress site. I had to figure out how to set it up (set up an account, actually) on Google Authenticator, but now a new account has appeared there named after my site's name, and I can login now with password + authenticator-generated code. Very nice!
