@josepar This will not be a problem when letsencrypt.org (from the #EFF ) gets their CA going in only a few months. Until then you can see this video on why you shouldn't trust the "SSL" CA system anyway (really fun+interesting, the first 30min, you can run it in the background): https://youtube.com/watch?v=UawS3_iuHoA

And yes, #CAcert will likely cause people to back off. Even experienced users may not know that such a CA exist - and might even think that the CAs in the browser are trustworthy just because they're shipped by default ;)

@imn00b Let's Encrypt can't change that within the scope of the project.
