   @joaocosta I used to believe that, but at this point I think the evidence is in that our communication methods and patterns are not just showing how ignorant and misinformed people are, they're actively making it worse.

     I think it's more that the information age is informing us about how many people are uninformed. Before the information age, we could only see it through personal acquaintances.
