@onepict@michaelgemar@cjust@hannu_ikonen I see, thanks. :) I don't agree with that assessment though. Sounds like an interesting take to write novels with though.
@onepict Me too. I was a pretty solitary kid, but I felt like he understood what it was like to be a bit sideways to the world. His stories got me through so many things.
@Natanox sorry I'm just popping in, have you considered audio books ? I sometimes miss on some paragraphs but it works well for me :)
(sorry for the unsollicited advice, i'm on the adhd spectrum but mine hasn't kept me from reading yet - however I do enjoy doing various tasks while listening to audio books and podcasts :) helps me focus.)
@Weanerdog Unfortunately not. I would've always loved to read more, however my ADHD and inner agitation keep stopping me from doing so. πΆ They are on my list of things to read once I've found a solution though!
The diskworld novels are superb. The first couple can be a little trying but once you meet the watch and the witches. They are superb. Monstrous regiment is a stand alone and superb. Some of the 41 books are okay. But the ones that are great are fantastic. Pyramids is another stand alone. But you could read the Watch series by itself or the witches by themselves.
@leroimiracle Cool if it works for you. π Unfortunately I couldn't concentrate at all as I can either listen and build the imaginary world the book describes (or the logical connections if it ain't a novel) or work an whatever I want. π Only music works for me that way.
Listening to audio books generally sounds like an idea, however I despise big companies and their streaming services. Can't afford to buy everything physically either though so I'm just avoiding the whole concept. π
