When you and I endure our economy class flight we don't feel happy that we're not having to travel 1500km by horse.
My personal take on the folk saying is: Money doesn't bring you happiness, but lack of money brings you sadness.

If I had big money, I'd use it to make my life happier. Damn straight I'd have a private plane so I won't have to deal with regular airport bullshit. That would be my happiness!
