I went around the whole 2nd floor and put the wires on the outlet screws like they should be.

Its ok if you don't draw too much load and it all stays cool. But, if there is any heat, the metal expands. That makes a loose connection. Which means more heat, etc...
I was going to say more. but, the "etc..." probably fills it all in for you.
