@gemlog Yeah, the same calendar is used by multiple cultures in Asia, so it's certainly not exclusively Chinese. But the reason it's celebrated and is a public holiday in Hong Kong is because it is also Chinese.

"Lunar New Year" is vague, as there are many lunar and lunisolar calendars. It only means something in a cultural context where it's obvious which Lunar New Year you mean.
