@theruran I look forward to reading anything you might write. We are sorely in need of new ideas around these topics. At the moment, with few exceptions, the software commons seems to have been successfully enclosed by corp interests, which is why we keep seeing articles like the one above.

The convergences are coincidental. And if you ask the old guard, a lot of them are libertarians who to be honest seem to think software development budgets come from universities or parents.
There is a lot more about the economics of Software Freedom, and also the economics of cohesion, control, convenience and community.
