   Hard to pin down a specific birthday for Dungeons & Dragons, but there’s a good argument for the last Sunday of January 1974. That was the 27th, so I guess tomorrow is the 50th birthday of D&D?

     @mcnees Can confirm Nov 1, 1973 letter and 1974 copyright. Looks like my box is fifth printing, still a mention of hobbits and ents. Plus, some loose reference sheets with handy tables.

     Happy 50th birthday to Dungeons & Dragons, I think!

     Pouring a cup of coffee in my favorite mug and pulling some old 0th and 1st edition books off the shelf, along with “Art & Arcana” and @stuhorvath.bsky.social’ great “Monsters, Aliens, and Holes in the Ground.”
