Years ago, if your teacher told your parents that you were not completing your homework assignments, your parents would “attack the problem at its seat” and you would make sure those assignments were done correctly and turned in on time. These days, the kids will come to school and say they didn’t do their homework because they had family #xbox time and their parents will acknowledge it.
We can try to resist this wave of generational ignorance, or we can accept that we have created a permanent underclass of aid recipients who are angry at society for not taking care of them the way they expect. Personally, I’d rather get those students working and learning, so that they are competitive in the job market after they graduate from school.
