Jack Dorsey announced that Block is getting rid of performance improvement plans (PIPs) and instead managers will be expected to evaluate employees after product launches or other big events βwhether to part ways immediately (instead of letting things linger).β
This is about making it easier to fire people as the company has promised to layoff 1,000 out if its current 13,000 employees.
Morale will be terrible as the layoffs will now be a slow and random seeming drip.
