   Absolutely wild to me that just bringing up the print dialog in macOS will briefly beachball an M1 MBP. Any basic system-level task on this machine should be instantaneous. Un-mounting external hard drives? Good luck.

     @mcnees That's ridiculous, I thought smooth, reliable function was a perk of Apple's carefully curated hardware/software ecosystem.

     My gaming PC may not be good enough to run windows 11 (processor is fast but lacks a key functionality-fine with me), but I guess at least basic functions still happen instantly.

     Man, I usually tease you folks but that kinda makes me mad on your behalf, Apple really does usually have their stuff in top condition. Weird day.

     @schamschula All the driver / printer combos I tried. Generic postscript, printer-specific, etc.
