For me a pharmacy is a place where you just buy stuff, but apparently the UK is like the US too and pharmacies can often administer an injection.
Here in Hong Kong you'd go to a clinic for a vaccination. Pharmacies that have anything other than soap, bandages, insecticide and over the counter medicines are generally physically part of a clinic or hospital.
After the physician gives you a prescription you buy the drug from the physician's colleague basically. You pay both at the same counter.
