*sigh* yet another site that doesn't accept its stated rules for a password: "Password should be 8-20 characters with at least one letter and number" - after a lot of trial and error I find out that it's actually limited to 15 characters. Brilliant. But at least 'special' characters are accepted! #security.
- Claes Wallin (韋嘉誠) repeated this.

@lnxw48 of course :)

@mk Maximum password length is SO BROKEN.
-
@clacke especially if it's only 15 when they state it's 20! ;-)
-
@mk There is no system so bad that you can't pile on more BROKEN.
-
@mk This is the kind of rubbish that makes it hard for me to guess my own passwords. Yes yes, I should be using a password manager already.

@clacke so true... just trying to login at one of the firms where I ordered hardware yesterday - can't, because their login process is #broken! Hoping the contact form works... :-/

@clacke I've been using a password manager for many years - first windows only; then I started searching for portable solutions and found KeePass - the data from the previous prgram could be exported, and imported in KeePass - now used on Linux, sometimes Windows (mainly when traveling), Android and (occasionally) Mac. I've never looked back. :)
